Goal
A beta test of new analytics functionality which allows instructors to better gauge student interaction with their zyBook through time spent and completion metrics. Participants will be asked to share their feedback about this beta. Specifically: what further insights would you like to have about student behavior in your zyBook?
Capabilities of beta
The analytics functionality consists of a few different visualizations which allow instructors to gain faster and deeper insights as to how their classes are acting.
The following graphs are provided:

Time spent: Average time spent by the entire class or sections, or exact time spent by
individual students, broken down by chapter, section, and activity part level.

Average completion percentage: Average completion for entire class or sections, or exact completion for individual students broken down by chapter, section, and activity part level.

Timeline of activity: See how long and when students were working in their zyBook.
Functionality includes:

Filter by entire class, section, or individual students.

Filter on entire zyBook, chapters, class sections, or assignments.

Filter by individual activity types such as participation, challenge, or lab activities.

Feature tour
View the analytics window by clicking the “View analytics” button on the reporting tab of your zyBook.
The analytics window will open and default to showing information for the entire class and entire zyBook. Depending on your screen size, you may need to scroll to view information about completion and a timeline of student work.
Hover over the bars in the chart to see details. Click on any chapter or section to navigate to it.
