Students typically purchase their subscriptions directly from our website. Because zyBooks are priced so low, the majority of students on financial aid simply subscribe online with a credit card, and then effectively reimburse themselves when their financial aid disbursement arrives in a few weeks. That's generally the easiest process for the student. In some cases, when requested, we can defer payment for a few weeks.
We understand some schools wish to involve the bookstore, and we are happy to work with bookstores who need to provide course materials for students on Financial Aid. We are sensitive to the overall cost to the student and will provide you with access keys at a 10% discount on the price per student quoted.
How do I order access keys for a zyBook?
All of our zyBooks are custom-made for each instructor, institution, course, and term after an instructor fills out our adoption form. The instructor using us will have a specific book made just for them, and that book for that term will have a unique ISBN assigned to it. This is because our books are highly configurable, so we want to make sure that bookstores are selling the right version of the book that the instructor has configured for the given term. Bookstores and instructors should be aware that a new ISBN is generated for each term. We also recommend that instructors fill out their adoption form and wait for their zyBook to be created before placing an order for access keys.

When you place an order with us, a bank of access keys will be provided in the form of a PDF. When you are finished with sales for the term, please email ASC_US_AR@wiley.com and let them know how many keys were sold. They will only bill for the keys that are sold, so it does not hurt to have extras on hand. Any unsold keys will be deactivated. When invoicing, we can reference a Purchase Order.

If you are a returning customer, we only need to know how many keys you would like for each book. You may email us at bookstore@zybooks.com for a list of current books at your institution.
What do I get when I order access keys for a zyBook?
A bank of access keys will be provided in the form of a PDF. The PDF provides one access key per page for easy distribution. A sample PDF can be viewed at the bottom of this article. We can also provide the access keys in a .csv file if requested.
What is the billing model used?
After a certain date (e.g. after add/drop date, which is usually 3 weeks after courses start), an invoice will be sent for the number of keys sold. When invoicing, we can reference a Purchase Order. Any unsold keys will be deactivated. Since we only bill for the keys that are sold, it does not hurt to have any extras on hand. What should I do with expired access keys? / Can I return or get a refund/credit for unused access keys?
Please destroy any leftover access keys you have at the end of each term. These keys will be deactivated and cannot be used towards any other book. We only bill for the keys that are sold, so there is no need to issue a credit for any unused access keys.
