If you received a zyBooks access key from your school’s bookstore and your instructor uses an LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, or Brightspace), start in your course shell/portal. Your course link takes you to the right zyBook for your class.
Jump to instructions specific to your LMS:
Canvas
- Log in to Canvas and open your course.
- Find a zyBooks assignment. It’s usually under Assignments or Modules.
- Click it. If the zyBook doesn’t open in your LMS, click “Load [assignment name] in a new window.”
- Jump ahead to Entering your access key
Blackboard
- Log in to Blackboard and open your course.
- Find a zyBooks assignment. It’s usually under Course Content.
- Click it one of the links to the zyBook.
- Jump ahead to Entering your access key
D2L/Brightspace
- Log in to D2L/Brightspace and open your course.
- Find a zyBooks assignment. It’s usually under "Content".
- Click it one of the links to the zyBook.

Note: A zyBooks access key is 10-characters and starts with “zy”, like zy123abc45. If you do not have a code that looks like that, reach out to your bookstore for assistance.
Click continue to payment.
Once the price drops to $0, click the orange Subscribe button.

If something looks off
- No access key box: the box only shows up if keys were issued for that specific zyBook. Check that you opened the assignment from your own course.
- Key doesn’t work: a key only works for the zyBook code it was sold for, so it won’t work for a different class or term.
